10 Great Horror Movies You Can't Stream Anywhere

7. Dream Home (2010)

Dream Home is a hidden gem of Hong Kong cinema; to the point where the film currently can't be streamed anywhere. The 2010 slasher follows the tale of Cheng Lai-sheung - a woman feverishly working two jobs in order to save up for her ideal flat.

This hardly sounds like the premise for a gripping horror movie, but things take a deadly turn when Lai-sheung is denied the opportunity to purchase the titular abode. In a macabre ploy to drive the property's price down, Josie Ho's lead proceeds to massacre the building's inhabitants utilising some of the more savage methods in recent memory.

Dream Home is unapologetically brutal and wickedly satirical at times. It's a polished horror experience that flows seamlessly for the most part, utilising some exemplary gallows humour along the way. While some critics may argue that the film's excessive use of gore detracts from the picture's overall quality, those looking for an inventive spin on the slasher subgenre could do far worse than this.

Unfortunately for anyone out there wishing to form their own opinion, this is one you'll have to watch on DVD. Dream Home's current absence from streaming services may potentially be a result of the legal issues between the director and studio that delayed the film's initial release.
