10 Great Moments In Otherwise Terrible Movies

The Terrible Movie: The second Blues Brothers movie is a pretty shameless attempt to cash-in on people's love of the original, rehashing a lot of the same plot and jokes. However, with the passing of John Belushi, a lot of the fast-paced humour that made the first film such a beloved classic fell flat in the sequel.

Even the inspired casting choice of bringing in John Goodman as a replacement for Belushi wasn't enough to save this movie from being anything more than a tepid retread.

The Great Moment: The one place Blues Brothers 2000 does manage to stand up to the original though is the music. Just like Blues Brothers, the film features cameos and performances from blues legends, including Aretha Franklin and James Brown (because if you're going to rip-off Blues Brothers, you may as well rip-off the best bits).

The highlight is undoubtedly the film's climax, in which the Blues Brothers play against the Louisiana Gator Boys in a battle of the bands. The Gator boys is a supergroup created especially for the movie and it is a genuine treat for blues fans to see icons like Eric Clapton, B.B. King and Bo Diddley all playing together.
