10 Great Movie Franchises That Lost It By The End

The halcyon days of Terminator 2: Judgment Day are way in the past for this time traveling sci-fi franchise.

Despite the fact that the Terminator franchise continued for several sequels after T2, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines was the end of it. T3 was a truly terrible film that disappointed fans who had been waiting 12 years for a new movie. It absolutely missed the mark, leaving bad taste in the mouths of everyone who watched it.

Subsequent sequels continued to disappoint by making the battle between humans and machines increasingly cartoonish and less interesting. Even bringing Sarah Connor back in the most recent installment couldn't get fans behind the movies, again. Dark Fate was their best attempt to regain that T2 magic but it still missed what worked in the original.

The genuine feel of struggle against insurmountable odds is gone and impossible to get back
