10 Great Movie Screen Tests For Famous Actors Who Lost Out

7. James Brolin - Octopussy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=LhkUWMJoccQ Okay. At first, an American James Bond does seem almost sacrilegious, but actors portraying 007 have been English, Scottish, Welsh, and even Australian, so why not give a debonair American a chance? I'm sure Brolin would have been given an acting coach to strengthen that British accent. Though it seems the studio was trying out James Brolin purely in hopes that Roger Moore would stop asking for more money, Brolin earns my respect for really going after the fight choreography. Of course, Roger Moore did return to play 007 for the sixth time in Octopussy, which is a movie so lavish and strange, that adding a new Bond may have just been too much. Still, there is something very alluring about this screentest. Of course, the "punch" and "kick" sound effects are pretty hilarious, but it was only a screentest after all.
