10 Great Movies Almost Ruined By Meddling Hollywood Executives

8. "The Wookie Should Wear Pants" - Star Wars (1977)

url-22 Sometimes it's near impossible to get inside the head of another person, especially when they're concerned with an issue as seemingly unimportant as Chewbacca's dress sense. Back before George Lucas was a billionaire, though, he was having to face off against Hollywood executives who were concerned that Chewbacca's "pants-less" look was somewhat offensive. Lucas, of course, pointed them to the fact that Chewbacca was a Wookie - a fictional species - and, um, does it really matter that a character covered in hair isn't wearing any pants? Mark Hamill, talking about the legacy of Star Wars, brought up the bizarre nature of the issue in the documentary Empire of Dreams, stating:
"Of all the things to worry about... the Wookie has no pants."
