Jax Teller comes a long way over the course of Sons of Anarchy's seven seasons, thanks in no small part to Charlie Hunnam's consistently great performances. His amazing abilities as a performer are on full display too in Max Winkler's sports drama Jungleland.

Hunnam plays Stanley Kaminski, brother of Walter "Lion" Kaminski (Jack O'Connell). The pair are squatters working medial jobs in a sewing factory, who at night also fight in underground fighting matches.

With Stanley as the fighter and Walter the coach, the pair end up travelling the country to participate in the fight of their lives which - they hope - will let them escape their crippling debt.

Jungleland is a muscular, well-acted drama that manages to balance violence and a brutish nature with a strong emotional core. It brings the best out of Hunnam, who brings intensity and gritty realism to the character of Stanley. It does well to stick out given the increasingly crowded genre space that it occupies.

Hunnam's other film roles include Raleigh Becket in Pacific Rim, Alan McMichael in Crimson Peak, and Raymond Smith in The Gentlemen. He is currently filming his latest TV series, Shantaram, based on the novel of the same name.
