10 Great Movies Starring The Cast Of Dexter
8. Rambo - Julie Benz (Rita)
Rambo begins with our the former marine living in Thailand as a snake catcher. After seeing so much betrayal and backstabbing while he fought in Afghanistan and Vietnam, John Rambo has been left a broken man.
But when he encounters a schoolteacher called Sarah (Julie Benz) and discovers she and her family have been kidnapped by a Burmese tyrant, the bandanna-wearing veteran drops everything to save her group.
Critics weren't won over by Rambo but the common masses LOVED it. In fact, Rambo's battle cry, 'Live for nothing or die for something' became a common phrase used by the Burmese Freedom Fighters shortly after the film's released. The action is astoundingly brutal, but each battle sequence is shot with such stunning visuals and well-executed choreography, you can't help admire it.
Julie Benz' stellar performance makes her feel like a real person, preventing her from coming across as the typical damsel in distress. Although John Rambo originally perceives Sarah as naive to the evils of the world, she is the first person to rekindle his faith in humanity in years and so, proves to be among the most significant characters in the franchise.
