Known for playing fan favourite Stiles Stilinski in Teen Wolf, actor Dylan O'Brien has had the most illustrious movie career outside of the show compared to his castmates. In 2016, Dylan starred opposite Mark Wahlberg in Deepwater Horizon which was based on the real life oil rig disaster of the same name.

For those who aren't familiar with the incident, the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig exploded on 20 April 2010, resulting in the deaths of 11 workers onboard. A fire subsequently broke out and the oil spilt from the sinking rig into the Gulf of Mexico became the largest accidental marine oil spill in the world.

The film was based on an article by The New York Times titled Deepwater Horizon's Final Hours. The first hand accounts compiled by the journalists behind the piece influenced the film and whilst some survivors claimed Deepwater Horizon had factual errors, the film was praised overall.

Dylan O'Brien's character, Caleb Holloway, is one of the workers onboard whose experiences we follow. Caleb was a real life floorhand working on the Deepwater Horizon.
