10 Great Sci-Fi Films Ruined By Terrible Endings

4. Us - The Unexplained Cloning

Us Ending
Monkeypaw

It was inevitable that Jordan Peele would swiftly be bending minds once again, after the hugely successful and Oscar-nominated Get Out. Us gives us our second dosing of clones in this list, as the silent, murderous and red-overall sporting doppelgangers slay their way through modern America. And yes, it might be a horror, but it's definitely also a sci-fi.

The mystery of Us kept audiences guessing through the majority of its runtime. However, as with many mysteries, they present interesting premises with predictably dull conclusions, and Us delivered a nonsensical stinker with its off-the-wall answer to the clone conundrum.

Escalators stationed across America, were the gateways to dimly lit hallways full of dumb and animalistic clones. A part of a failed government experiment, the clones had been left to their own devices, yet were linked to their up-top counterparts. Getting pregnant when those up-top did and imitating their current actions when left alone.

While the twist that Adelaide (Lupita Nyong’o) was the clone version the whole time was a shocking surprise, it wasn’t enough to overlook the many head-scratching logistical questions the film left.
