10 Great Superman Stories That Could Save The DCEU

Superman Man Of Steel
DC Comics

This 2008 comic, penned by Geoff Johns and drawn by Alex Ross, is a bold and imaginative story that places Superman in a moral quandary due to his allegiance to his adopted homeworld, and the titular remnants of his birth planet.

Following an encounter with Brainiac (that will be touched on in a later entry), Superman manages to restore Kandor City to its original size, and relocates it to the North Pole.

The presence of 100,000 superpowered Kryptonians on Earth unsettles human governments.

Despite the initiation of diplomatic ties between the two worlds, interference by Lex Luthor and a collection of Superman villains leads to the Kryptonians leaving Earth, creating their own planet using Brainiac's technology.

Adapting such a story would give the DCEU a chance to explore and flesh out Kryptonian society with a level of depth that was only hinted at in Man of Steel.

In addition to this, Superman's torn allegiance between his two worlds could lead to compelling character work for the actor that will don the cape and tights.
