10 Great Teen Horror Movies (No One Ever Talks About)

2. Disturbia

Cherry Falls
Paramount Pictures

How much you enjoy 2007's Disturbia will depend entirely on your ability to stomach controversial star Shia LaBeouf.

Hate the Holes actor? Fair enough, this one warrants a miss.

Love his oddball charm and/or don't feel too strong either way?

Then this teen remix of Rear Window is a must-see. A wildly underrated, fast-paced thrill ride with great turns from David Morse and Aaron Yoo, this one relies almost entirely on LaBeouf to anchor its action.

And the actor does a commendable job switching between angsty and goofily charming as the teenage delinquent who would be able to uncover his creepy neighbour's crimes if it weren't for the pesky house arrest ankle bracelet he's stuck wearing all summer.

Pacy and irreverent, this teen horror makes the wise decision to throw in a cute romantic subplot and some meta-humour in order to keep the quick moving proceedings feeling fresh, and it makes for a rare classic pG-13 horror as a result.
