10 Great Teen Horror Movies (No One Ever Talks About)
1. The Craft
Soon to be remade by the aforementioned ubiquitous horror producer Jason Blum, 1996's The Craft is a criminally underrated nineties teen horror.
A campy “Mean Girls meets Practical Magic” classic, the film tells the story of a quartet of young high school girls who dabble in occult magic.
Of course, this being a teen horror, things go a little further than the standard "light as a feather, stiff as a board" sleepover proceedings. Soon, Fairuza Balk, Rachel True, Robin Tunney, and Scream's Neve Campbell rule the school thanks to their newfound skill with wicca...
Until, of course, one of them takes things too far and becomes the magic equivalent of Regina George.
Featuring Riverdale's Skeet Ulrich in a supporting role, this self-consciously campy, fun teen horror is a must-watch for fans of nineties teen movies, cheesy horrors, and witchy drama alike. Predating the countless YA witch stories that have since followed, The Craft casts a long shadow over the sub genre and as such earned the top spot as the greatest underrated teen horror.
