10 Great Under The Radar Movies Still To Come In 2016

The War On Everyone Movie Review

Director John Michael McDonagh returns with his third feature, which is easily his best to date. War On Everyone is an acidic black comedy that follows two corrupt cops as they chase after some stolen money in hopes of taking it for themselves, only to bring a whole lot of trouble upon themselves.

It may sound straightforward but it’s not, and the story is anything but predictable. The script is a work of art, managing to balance fantastic gags with genuine character moments, and while the film is a farce it still has a surprisingly amount of heart to it.

Michael Peña is fantastic, but the real surprise is Alexander Skarsgard, who proves he’s more than a pretty face with his turn as an alcoholic cop looking for some meaning to his life. Even Theo James – the bland hunky dude from Divergent – gives a great performance as the slimy villain of the piece.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
