10 Great X-Men Characters To Follow Apocalypse As Movie Villains

8. Omega Red

Marvel ComicsMarvel ComicsOmega Red would look superb in live action, though he would likely have to be a Wolverine-specific villain - not that that would be a problem, given that Fox seem intent on splurging out Wolverine movies like mass-produced items on a production line. He is Arkady Rossovich - a serial killer who was born in Russia, captured by the Interpol agent Sean Cassidy and turned over to the KGB. The KGB wanted people to experiment on in order to create a super soldier similar to Captain America. Omega Red was the outcome of those experiments. A mutant, he naturally possesses superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility and reflexes, as well as the ability to secrete pheromones known as "Death Spores" from his body. The secretion of these spores results in the weakness or death of ordinary humans in his immediate vicinity. The experiments carried out on Rossovich included implanting retractable carbonadium tentacles within each of his arms (carbonadium being the Soviets' attempt to recreate adamantium, which ended up as a more malleable form of the indestructable metal). These tentacles can be used as extremely dangerous striking weapons and as super-strong grappling appendages. Omega Red is able to a wrap a victim up in his tentacles and drain them of all their energy - a vampiric tendency that is essential for his survival. He has bested Wolverine on several occasions. He is essentially a cool cross between Wolverine himself, Doctor Octopus and Dracula - and wouldn't that be a sight to behold in live action?
