7. The Stepfather

The American Dream - the classic, post World War II nuclear family so elegantly painted on the cover of Time Magazine oh so long ago. In the end, it's all some really desire - that perfect two-story home in the suburbs with 2.5 kids and a 9-5 job.

At least, that's certainly what Terry O'Quinn's character desires in The Stepfather - and he'll kill to get. O'Quinn, since known for roles like John Locke in Lost, plays a man who wants to be the birdhouse-building, loving stepfather. The only issue is, anytime there is some kind of family strife - as there always is - he kills them all, changes his identity and tries it all over again.

The Stepfather was actually based on the case of John List, who murdered his family in 1971 before disappearing for years. He was the first man arrested after being broadcast on America's Most Wanted.
