10 Greatest "I'm Dead And I Know It" Moments From Stargate

2. Lantash - Last Stand

Stargate Lantash
MGM

Lantash was the Tok'Ra symbiont that had once been the mate of Jolinar, the symbiont who had joined with Samantha Carter for a short time. For the majority of SG-1, he was hosted by Martouf, played by J.R. Bourne. However, Martouf was brainwashed into becoming an assassin for the Gou'uld, leading to a heartbreaking ending where SG-1 w forced to kill him.

Lantash survived, though only for a short time longer. By the time his number is up, he is inhabiting the body of Lt. Kevin Elliot. The Tok'Ra base that he and SG-1 are at is under attack from the System Lords, so they must escape. However, the nearest safe haven is a 22-mile walk from their location.

Lantash is too weak to give Elliot the strength that normally comes from a blending, so it quickly becomes apparent that there is only one course of action. SG-1 has to leave him behind, armed with a weapon so that he can hold off the pursuing Jaffa. It is a suicide mission, and everyone knows it. The episode closes with Lantash/Elliot looking resolute, sitting against a tree, waiting for the soldiers to catch up with him.
