Not everyone can say that having a vat of acid poured over your body could improve your way of life and make you into a better person. That is unless you’re the Toxic Avenger from the 1984 cult classic movie who suffers this exact awful accident and takes it upon himself in his new zombie-like form to rid the streets of crime and evildoers, and turn them into ice cream like an utter badass.
The transformation sequence in this film is awesome due to the length of the scene where the Avenger goes through many excruciating stages. First, his skin starts to heat up to the point where he is set on fire, then he becomes increasingly disfigured as his flesh starts to pulsate and boil until he finally becomes the mutant crime-fighting badass that spawned 3 sequels, a video game, a kids cartoon and even a comic book series as fans simply loved the Avenger.
This transformation and the entirety of the film perfectly blends horror and comedy so well to the point that audiences don’t know whether to scream, cry or laugh due to the antics that are unfolding on screen.
