Clive Barker’s Hellraiser became an instant classic back in 1987 due to its crazy sadomasochistic villains such as the infamous Pinhead and the cruel, harsh reality that the characters in the narrative have to succumb too.

The plot follows an unfaithful wife as she encounters her now undead lover who is being pursued by Pinhead and the other ungodly Cenobites that inhabit the underworld from which the lover has escaped from.

Frank the lover raises from the floorboards as he is escaping the impending doom. His blood starts to reform and viewers watch as his muscles and brain start to repair themselves, as they all start to connect back together piece by piece in a more horrifying way than any Lego set available on the market. Frank’s body’s reparation stops as he turns into a legless, skinless mummified moving corpse as he lets out a terrifying shriek, which matched many of audience members screams as they saw him piece himself back together.

The scene is so bone-chilling due to the sheer horror of seeing a man raise from a BDSM hell to repair himself in one of the most stomach-churning scenes in horror history and helps solidify the appreciation that many have for Barker’s dark and gloomy masterpiece.
