10 Greatest Dad Jokes In Movie History

5. Superhero Movie - I'm Not Wearing Any Diamonds

The 2008 Superhero Movie starring Drake Bell didn't light up the world in terms of critical reviews but this superhero parody movie certainly delivered some utterly hilarious moments.

Produced by parody genius David Zucker who wrote and directed the 1980s classic Airplane! and created The Naked Gun series, Superhero Movie featured a cast of comedy heroes such as Leslie Nielsen, Christopher McDonald and Kevin Hart. In typical Zucker style, this film is crammed full of slapstick humour and painful dad jokes but the one that makes the list happens in the first encounter between Firefly (Bell) and Hourglass (McDonald).

In a genius spoof of Sam Raimi's Spiderman, Hourglass launches titanium blades at Firefly after announcing that they can cut through diamonds. The suspenseful music builds up, the camera zooms into a close up of Firefly as he retorts with "I'm not wearing any diamonds."

This dad joke has everything - an agonizing so-bad-it's-good punchline accompanied with a fed up eye roll by Hourglass who then throws his blades. The deadpan delivery of the painfully literal punchline certainly has "Hi, Hungry. I'm Dad!" energy to it making it a cutting edge dad joke.
