10 Greatest Easter-Themed Horror Movies
2. Easter – Holidays
You may have noticed an abundance of bunny-themed horrors so far and though director Nicholas McCarthy’s Easter segment of festive-themed horror anthology Holidays sticks with that theme it does give us something slightly different – a rabbit-Jesus hybrid thing, which is every bit the nightmarish abomination that it sounds.
Kind of like the bastard amalgamation of Easter themes both biblical and folkloric, the Jesus Bunny Man hatches from an egg wearing a loincloth and crown of thorns and looking like a man who’s had a nasty run in with rabbit DNA inside one of David Cronenberg’s telepods.
In other words, the Jesus Bunny Man is genuinely weird and terrifying. Oh, and he spouts forth baby chicks from the crucifixion wounds on his hands and forces a young girl who accidentally witnessed his abomination of an existence to take his place as the next Jesus-rabbit hybrid because when a film is this weird any extra weirdness is just a cherry on top.
