1. Godzilla (1954)

Godzilla centers around a creature whose underwater habitat is completely neutralised by a nuclear bomb that kills its family and mutilates him. Due to this, Godzilla begins a rampage, destroying anything in its wake and spares no one. Godzilla is a giant bipedal creature that has charcoal skin and large leaf-shaped plates running down its back, with a gigantic tail that crushes anything in its wake.

Godzilla has become a pop culture phenomenon, with Godzilla even receiving a star himself on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in 2005. Since the original debut in 1954, many remakes and sequels have followed with the creature launching a brand that has endured even the worst releases. And it's still going strong now.

Interestingly, when the film debuted in cinemas, fans watching the film actually felt as if the theatre was being attacked and ran out midfilm.

THE ULTIMATE PREDATOR

In the 2018 remake, the Predator is reimagined as the Ultimate Predator. This is an advanced alien species that's faster and stronger than any man on earth, with upgraded physical and mental capabilities. Director Shane Black explains that with the modern predator, it was far sleeker, more agile, and more predatory in nature making it by far the Ultimate Predator.
