2. Casino Royale (2006) - The Crane Chase
Often considered the best stunt of the modern Craig era of Bond films, the 'crane jump' forms part of the opening pre-title sequence in Madagascar when Bond is forced to race down a runaway mercenary Mollaka (played by free-running founder Sebastien Foucan) when he bolts during a surveillance operation. Through construction sites and busy streets, Bond ceaselessly chases down Mollaka and it's part of the construction site sequence that we find our No. 2 stunt as Bond and Mollaka race along cranes and scaffolding hundreds of feet in the air. Bond leaps right through the air, slamming into a crane just below him - the shot is impressive and scarily brilliant and authentic in its execution. Foucan can probably do this in his sleep but Craig's 007 seems all the more superhuman in this moment - not just a flawed broken man or a cold killer that we'll come to know and understand, but for this sequence, he's a legend.
