2012s Indie Game The Movie is a documentary focussing on the resurgence in independent games off the back of new ways to raise funding and reach audiences. Looking at the developers behind Super Meat Boy, Fez and Braid, it follows the struggles and journeys that go into everything from concept, design, construction and release of what were revealed to be very personal projects. Its a fascinating insight into the process and demonstrates just how much heart and soul some game designers put into their projects, with an all or nothing attitude, that doesnt factor in the potential of failure in a market dominated by large, well-funded developers.
