10 Greatest Fake Out Endings In Movies

2. Wayne's World

While the Wayne's World movies don't go quite as far as rolling the credits, both movies nevertheless served up some categorically insane fake-out endings.

Initially, the first film seems to climax with everything going horribly wrong for Wayne (Mike Myers) and Garth (Dana Carvey): Wayne gets dumped by Cassandra (Tia Carrere) and she runs off with producer Benjamin (Rob Lowe), he finds out his ex Stacy (Lara Flynn Boyle) is pregnant with his kid, and Wayne's house burns down, killing Garth.

But just as all hope appears to be lost, Wayne and Garth slide back into frame and smash the fourth wall, directly addressing the audience as they announce a do-over of the movie's ending, opting instead for a Scooby Doo parody in which Benjamin is revealed to be an old man in disguise.

But it doesn't end there - Wayne and Garth decide to restart the ending again, this time delivering a "mega-happy ending" in which everyone, even Benjamin, comes out of it in a good place.

The duo then re-did the gag in Wayne's World 2, where when Wayne and Garth are near-death in the desert, they switch to an ending parodying the cliff-driving finale of Thelma & Louise, before the pair agree upon a more conventional happy ending.

Before you look at our #1 pick, though, know that spoilers will follow for Everything Everywhere All At Once if you haven't seen it yet...
