10 Greatest Found Footage Films

2. Chronicle (2012)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJEZuvcBESo Without a doubt Chronicle was among the 5 best films of 2012. It took the found-footage genre to a whole new level by not using just one camera, as well as giving the movie an interesting twist on that aspect by giving the characters a good excuse for them not to have the cameras on their hands the whole time. Right now we always relate found footage films to the horror genre, so it was really refreshing to see a Superhero Origin story in that format. Andrew's descent into madness as well as the relationship he, Steve and Matt had once they found and developed their powers was pretty much the highlight of the movie. But what really made this film were the characters and the plot; their motivations and actions were extremely well developed, and as the film progressed we managed to know them more and more, getting more and more involved with them. The build up was done like very few movies do in recent years, and the end result can be defined with just one word: Epic. I truly fear for what the sequel is going to do, especially if we consider how cool the original plot Max Landis was going to give to the movie. Let's hope it's something good or at least decent.
