10 Greatest 'I'm Dead And I Know It' Moments In Supernatural Horror Movies

5. Ellison Oswalt - Sinister

The Fog Father Malone Hal Holbrook

Oh dear.

As he becomes woozy, notices a strange substance at the bottom of his coffee, then slumps to the floor while foaming from the mouth, that's when Ellison Oswalt (Ethan Hawke) knew he was dead.

Having spent the rest of the movie scanning through old Super 8 tapes in order to make sense of multiple missing children cases, the true crime writer is himself set to become the latest victim of Bughuul and his chilling powers of persuasion.

When the patriarch of the Oswalt family finally comes to, he's tied up with his wife Tracy and son Trevor. In front of him is his axe-wielding daughter Ashley, who is filming on an 8mm camera as she soon butchers her parents and sibling with an axe.

For Ellison, he knew as soon as he hit the floor after his drugged coffee that Baghuul had corrupted his daughter - and likewise, he knew what fate awaited he and his family.

To make things even creepier, Ashley follows up these three murders by using her nearest 'n' dearest's blood to paint pictures on the walls of the Oswalt house.
