The Temple of Doom – though not without its lighter moments – is the darkest of the trilogy, and the first booby trap of the film certainly isn't short on suspense.

After discovering a secret passageway, Indy and Shorty find themselves trapped in a tight space with the ceiling slowly descending upon them. With moments to spare before they are crushed to death, Indy calls on Willie for help.

However, due to the excessive number of freakishly large bugs, she is not quick with her rescue. Even when she does manage to save Indy and Shorty, she accidentally sets off the booby trap again, and the three of them only just manage to escape.

What makes this scene so memorable is the level of intensity it provides. The claustrophobic nature of Indy and Shorty’s predicament leads to an edge-of-the-seat experience.
