10 Greatest James Bond Villain Lairs

10. Piz Gloria - On Her Majesty's Secret Service

On Her Majesty€™s Secret Service is generally not one of Bond fans favourite films, but whatever the shortcomings in acting and plot it certainly had a memorable and striking lair. The building was located on top of a snow-covered mountain in the Swiss Alps, meaning access was only possible by helicopter or cable car. Such a remote area was superb location for Blofeld to carry out his Virus Omega project away from prying eyes. Being home to a number of scientists, guards and beautiful women with allergy problems, it provided everything from security to excellent accommodation. While brainwashing the aforementioned girls it was necessary to keep them happy, expensive living quarters and fine dining facilities were similarly a must have. This made Piz Gloria as luxurious as it was deadly. As well as an underground laboratory for developing viruses and toxins, the lair is also situated right next to bobsled tracks and ski slopes. Incredibly handy for those who want to take up extreme sports or who need to make a quick getaway. Piz Gloria is unique in that it doesn€™t look or feel like a lair at all, the lush snow and beautiful finish make it seem much more like a hotel or restaurant. Brilliant as a disguise as which is exactly what Blofeld used it for, but it also what allows it stand out among the other lairs used within the films.
