10 Greatest James Bond Villain Lairs

7. Space Station - Moonraker

Sometimes having a lair located on earth isn€™t practical, especially when you plan to release a deadly nerve toxin in the hope of destroying all life on earth. In those circumstances it is much more beneficial to have your secret base off-world, and that is exactly what Hugo Drax did with his Moonraker Space Station. There are several things that make this lair so great, with the first being that it so much easier to hide in the vastness of space. Very few people are going to think a villain capable of launching their own space station and will therefore not bother to look in space, but even if they do the sheer size of the task would make it incredibly difficult to find. Secondly, it has had the ability to dock with and launch rockets and shuttles, allowing it to transport staff and supplies without ever having to return to earth. But what really made it so iconic was the fact that it was a fully functioning space colony, able to support the lives of hundreds for an extended period until the planet was ready to be repopulated. It also came with a few bonus extras, such as a radar-jamming device to prevent the military from being able to locate it and a giant laser that would defend it against intruders.
