10 Greatest Marvel Movies Never Made
7. X-Men: Fear The Beast
Fox's X-Men movie franchise was so full of ups and downs, and though there were highlights in the form of X2, X-Men: First Class, Logan, and others, there was a huge amount of potential for the series left unexplored.
One such avenue was spin-offs for individual characters. Only Wolverine and Deadpool had solo movies under the franchise's banner, a short list that could have been a lot longer had certain things gone differently. X-Men Origins Wolverine killed any idea of a Magneto movie, while Simon Kinberg's overarching plans for the X-Men put to bed a potential Beast spin-off.
X-Men: Fear the Beast was a script penned by Byron Burton, unsurprisingly with the titular mutant at the forefront. Coming in 2016, this would have seen Nicholas Hoult's version of Hank McCoy take a much more prominent role, something that would have arguably been a welcome fresh perspective after the underwhelming X-Men: Apocalypse.
Beast would have squared off against the Wendigo, another hulking brute and the first character Wolverine faced in the comics, bringing along Professor X and Logan himself for the ride. Unfortunately however, this clashed with the ultimately unrealised vision for the franchise, in particular Wolverine, and thus was never produced.
