7. Ivan Vanko
In much the same way that many MCU heroes with no powers have utilised their intelligence to their advantage, so too did Ivan Vanko. He may have been one of the very few miscast characters in franchise history, but you have to admit he didn't do too badly to say he was just a normal man.
The son of Anton Vanko, Howard Stark's partner on the Arc Reactor project all those years ago, Ivan's resentment towards Tony Stark was understandable. The Starks were world famous and rich beyond compare, while the Vankos lived in poverty.
Taking Iron Man's technology and using it against him, Vanko attacked Tony Stark on the world stage, with countless millions watching. He ultimately got his arse kicked and was quickly put in handcuffs, but he achieved what he wanted to. In his own words, he made god bleed.
His partnership and manipulation of Justin Hammer only brought him closer to his goal of destroying Stark completely, however in a battle of technology and wit, Vanko ultimately fell short against the team of Iron Man and War Machine.
