10 Greatest MCU Villains With No Powers
5. Adrian Toomes
There are countless motivations behind the actions of villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ranging from the outrageous to the compelling. One of the most understandable and certainly relatable was that of Adrian Toomes, who just wanted to survive.
Toomes’ only goal when he won a city contract to clean up the mess of the Battle of New York was to put food on his family’s table, but Tony Stark and the Department of Damage Control ripped that opportunity away from him. His only real option was to start operating outside of the law with the alien tech he managed to keep.
Despite holding a grudge against Iron Man, Toomes never went out of his way to hunt down any superheroes like others on this list, though selling Chitauri tech obviously earned him the attention of his friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. His only reason for fighting the Webhead however, was so he could continue to provide for his family.
Michael Keaton’s villain was incredibly compelling, and audiences could easily sympathise and relate to his unfortunate situation. However, that's not to say that he couldn't be incredibly dangerous, and uncomfortably intimidating when he needed to be.
