10 Greatest R-Rated Comedy Films Of All Time

6. Hot Fuzz

Had about all you can stomach of the Foley, McClane and Riggs/Murtaugh domination? Think your local bobbies are overpaid layabouts? Then make sure you remember the names Angel and Butterman; they're the partnership for you. In part two of the 'Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy', Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg), a Metropolitan Police officer, is transferred to the unassuming town of Sandford, where he teams up with fellow PC, Danny Butterman (Nick Frost). Together they ponder the town's lack of criminal activity, whilst uncovering the true nature of Timothy Dalton's eerie character, James Bond Simon Skinner. The film was lauded for the way in which its consistently funny and witty nature managed to blend effortlessly into the action sequences. Having been produced on a relatively small budget, the film's success relied almost entirely on Pegg and Frost's relationship; though, having spent the best part of 10 years together - dating back to the filming of Spaced - it was no surprise that this factor was never going to be an issue.
