10 Greatest Stoner Movies Ever

5. Grandma's Boy

Grandma's Boy
20th Century Fox

Alright, alright, Grandma's Boy isn't the zenith of critical acclaim, but that's probably because most film critics must never have had a puff on the sweet Mary Jane, because this is a great stoner movie.

Allen Covert plays Alex, a video game tester (which the film makes seem like the best job ever) who gets evicted from his apartment and is forced to move in with his grandmother Lilly (Doris Roberts) and her two friends, Grace (Shirley Jones) and Bea (Shirley Knight). Sounds like a lame set-up, right? Throw some weed into the mix and suddenly everything's a hoot.

Though the film didn't do particularly well at the cinema, it cleaned up on the DVD market, and was a big hit at the High Times' 2006 Stony Awards, winning "Best Stoner Movie," "Best Actor in a Movie" (Allen Covert), and "Best Pot Scene in a Movie."
