10 Greatest Threequels Of All Time

5. Pusher 3

pusher 3 Before he shot to international fame for turning Tom Hardy into Charles Bronson and making Ryan Gosling look like the coolest man alive, Nicolas Winding Refn was busy making some of the best films in Scandanavia. The Pusher trilogy is a dark exploration of the decadent Copenhagen underworld and each of the three films chronicles a different person and their attempts to avoid ending up on the wrong side of a gun. Pusher 3 charters a day in the life of Serbian drug lord Milo, who appeared in the first two movies as a feared monster, but here his power is waning as younger criminals begin to rise in authority and remove him from his throne. It's a dirty dark movie and like all of Refn's movies, looks stunning and driven by atmosphere. Zlatko Buric is brilliant in the lead and even reprised his role for the English language remake released last year. Refn is currently becoming one of the hottest directors in America, but it's impossible to forget his relentless crime trilogy and its enigmatic final part.
