7. The Proud Father (300)

After the Spartan 300 successfully repel an assault by Persian forces, the self-proclaimed god-king Xerxes orders the formidable Immortals to attack them. Despite suffering a few casualties of their own, the Spartans defeat the Immortals convincingly, with the young Spartan soldier Astinos being particularly impressive in combat. Once all of the currently present Immortals are seemingly killed, Astinos' Father - Captain Artemis - gives him a smile and a nod to acknowledge his proud at his son's performance. While Astinos is basking in his Father's pride, however, a lone horseman emerges through the dusty battlefield and, before Captain Artemis can warn his son properly, Astinos is beheaded. This causes Captain Artemis to immediately spiral in to a furious state of bloodlust, resulting in him killing a number of the next wave of attackers by himself, before falling at his dead son's feet in utter despair.
