À l'intérieur, aka Inside, is a movie that stays with you long, long after its wrapped up its 82-minute run time.

Helmed by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, Inside revolves around pregnant widower Sarah (Alysson Paradis) and a deranged woman (Béatrice Dalle of Betty Blue fame) who's listed in the film's credits as simply La Femme.

Four months after her husband was killed in a car crash, Sarah is preparing to deliver her overdue baby the following day. When said mystery woman arrives at her door, it's then that Inside kicks into gear as the two ladies end up in a bloody, intense battle for survival throughout Sarah's household.

Once Inside heads into its final act, we find out that La Femme lost her own unborn baby in the same car crash that killed Sarah's husband, and she now wants Sarah's child for herself. Before that shocker can truly set in, a policeman arrives at the scene, Sarah's waters break, and then we get Inside's most disturbing scene.

Desperate to save Sarah's baby, La Femme carries out a makeshift Caesarean section on her rival with a pair of scissors.

Ending on the most depressing of notes, Sarah dies, and Dalle's character is left cradling the newborn.
