Dumbledore’s Army are a strange lot. Though most of them are united when it comes to resisting Umbridge’s vile teaching methods, some are less enthusiastic.

Zacharias Smith is hostile from the start, and Ernie Macmillan is worried about the consequences of being found out. Yet the most problematic member of this teenage gang is Marietta Edgecombe.

Marietta is brought along, against her will, by Cho Chang, Harry’s love interest. Given her mother works at the Ministry, Marietta has doubts about Dumbledore’s Army and she snitches on the rest of them shortly before Easter.

But thanks to Hermione’s curse, Mariette ends up with a face full of pimples. It’s a satisfying moment that would have been fun to experience on screen. Instead, all we got was a rather dull storyline involving Umbridge using Veritaserum (the truth potion) on Cho.
