The mysterious meaning behind the enigmatic title of JK Rowling’s sixth novel in the series is not revealed until near the book’s dramatic denouement. When we discover the eponymous half-blood prince is none other than Snape, this revelation comes at the cost of Dumbledore’s life in one of the most devastating scenes in the entire series, so it’s pretty obvious why the title was chosen.
In the film, however, the title is never actually addressed or explained, meaning movie viewers will have a hard time discerning who or with the titular prince is, or why they should apparently care either way.
