Throughout the films we get to see all manner of locations throughout the wizarding world, and although not everywhere gets the in-depth exploration provided by the source novels most of the most memorable spots dotted around the map of Rowling’s imagined world are given a look in at some stage.
However the lack of any significant scenes set inside the bedlam of St Mungo’s hospital, wherein Neville Longbottom’s mentally ravaged parents reside, means we’re never given a glimpse of the wizarding world’s many failures. The fifth book shows us in no uncertain terms that the world of magic has no idea how to handle mental illness, but we never see any of that reality in the films.
