10 Heart-Breaking Film Moments When The Hero Became The Villain

7. Prince Hans - Frozen

It's a tale as old as time itself: girl meets boy of her dreams; boy sweeps her off her feet and they become engaged; boy turns out to be a complete jerkwad who's willing to let girl die so that he can inherit her kingdom and immeasurable wealth. Come on, we've all been there. What's so frustrating about Hans is that he does such a thoroughly convincing job of being charming, romantic and noble that we're swept away almost as much as Anna is, and while Elsa is quickly sceptical as to his true intentions, it's just so nice to see Anna with someone who lavishes her with affection that we disregard his jumping the gun on the whole marriage thing, but when his true nature becomes clear we're all kicking ourselves for believing in such a vile crook. Anyone who's fallen head over heels for someone only to discover they're not who they appear can easily relate, which is likely why Anna and Hans' relationship has gained such strong reactions from fans.
