Others Names/Alias: Zatanna Zatara First Appearance: Hawkman #4 (1964) Powers and Abilities: A master of magic and sorcery. As the daughter of master magician Zatara, Zatanna is naturally a master of anything arcane. Her skills or role in the DC universe could be compared to that of Doctor Strange, and she traditionally serves as the mystically-inclined member of the team whose expertise is often needed to combat more esoteric threats. Beyond that, Zatanna excels as an interesting female character with some depth compared to the likes of Hawkgirl or Wonder Woman. In recent years, Zatanna's been closer to the limelight, often being involved with the Justice League, or more recently Justice League Dark. While she has teetered from obscure to fairly popular, but as of right now she seems to be a relevant staple of the DCU who would really need to make an appearance on the character roster if it is to feel whole. Like Etrigan, her appearance is likely due to Guillermo Del Toro's Justice League Dark adaptation.
