10 Heroically-Aligned Actors Who Need To Play Movie Villains

4. George Clooney

NY: Portrait Of George Clooney Like a bunch of actors on this list, Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney has played some rather unsavoury characters over the span of his highly successful career, though he's never verged into full-on villain territory, presumably because movie fans are too enamoured with his slick and respectable image to care. Often branded "the modern Cary Grant" because of his clean-cut persona, this comparison works on two levels: Grant didn't play villains either. The closest Clooney's ever come? In his first starring role, perhaps, where he played likeable bank robber Seth Gecko in the Tarantino-penned vampire flick From Dusk Till Dawn. He's played a hitman in The American, too, but that's not the kind of performance we're talking about here: it'd be ace to see Clooney as somebody who - for once - wasn't cool, collected, handsome and witty, don't you think? Somebody raw and menacing... psychopathic, even. How about it, George?
