Like a bunch of actors on this list, Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney has played some rather unsavoury characters over the span of his highly successful career, though he's never verged into full-on villain territory, presumably because movie fans are too enamoured with his slick and respectable image to care. Often branded "the modern Cary Grant" because of his clean-cut persona, this comparison works on two levels: Grant didn't play villains either. The closest Clooney's ever come?
