10 Hidden Details You Never Noticed In Famous Movie Posters
7. Seeing Double (Moon)
The 2009 sci-fi film Moon is a tense, thoughtful drama from director Duncan Jones.
It stars Sam Rockwell as a man who lives on the moon, completely isolated from any other human company. At first, his life seems quite routine - and even a tad mundane - but part way through the movie, there's a really intriguing reveal that causes him to question his very existence.
This reveal (spoiler alert!) is that Rockwell is actually a clone, and even worse, these clones are designed to deteriorate and die at the end of a three-year period. Basically, it's a movie about multiple Sam Rockwells, and this is something that the poster's clever design subtly hints at.
If you've never seen the movie, this detail will go right over your head (and even if you have seen the movie, it's still possible to miss), but look at Rockwell's name in the top-left corner: it repeats itself multiple times, and then slowly fades away, exactly like the clones - and their short lifespans - in the movie.
There are also the numerous concentric circles spilling out from behind Rockwell's body. At first, these might just seem like a nod to the movie's title and main setting - the moon - but they also double as another allusion to the clone reveal.
