10 Hidden Gem Supernatural Horror Movies

4. House IV: The Repossession

House 4
New Line Cinema

Given how disappointing House II: The Second Story and House III: The Horror Show were, it's no surprise that even the most ardent of horror hands may have opted to swerve the fourth House picture.

For those who had that thought process, they ended up missing out on a fun little supernatural film. Granted, House IV: The Repossession may not match the first entry in the series, but it's head and shoulders above the two movies that came before it.

A pseudo sequel to the original film, House IV goes back to the roots of what the franchise was based around. As in, lots of spooky scares that could be enjoyed by adults and kids alike. Following the expletive-laced, goretastic third House effort, this approach was a welcome return for the series.

The Repossession sees William Katt's Roger Cobb brought back from the first film, complete with a new wife and a daughter in tow. After Rog is killed in a car accident, it's wife Kelly (Terri Treas) who's centre-stage as she takes residence in the creepy family home - while having to fend off her brother-in-law and his plans to take possession of the house for himself.

There's bloody showers, talking pizzas, classic mirror messages and a whole host of other familiar tropes all included here.
