10 Hidden Horror Movie Gems From 2020s (So Far)

Released earlier this year, Kurtis David Harder's Influencer is a smart, sleek picture with some extremely nice scares. And as the title would suggest, the central focus of the movie is on the yearning of so many these days to be a social media 'influencer'.

What Influencer cleverly does, is showcase how what you see online isn't always necessarily a sincere depiction. In this instance, Emily Tennant's Madison is seemingly living a dream life, vacationing in Thailand, staying at a stunning resort, being paid a bunch of money by sponsors, and forever bringing smiles and positivity to each of her social media posts.

Of course, once she turns her phone camera off, Madison is alone, bored, miserable, and stuck in a hotel room overseas as she misses her boyfriend.

That's where CW (Cassandra Naud) comes into the equation, with her befriending Madison and helping to bring some spark to her Thailand stay. The only problem is, CW doesn't necessarily have the best of intentions when she starts up this friendship.

Given how recently Influencer was released, it'd be a smidge unfair to divulge any further details, but safe to say, this is a film that should absolutely be on the radar of horror hounds.
