10 High Grossing 2015 Films That Actually Made No Profit

7. Goosebumps

Production Budget: $58,000,000 Worldwide Gross: $77,640,027 Estimated Losses: $38,359,973 Goosebumps, based on the popular 1990s children's horror book series, opened #1 at the U.S. box office, but its $23.6 million opening and positive reviews didn't sustain the family movie through Halloween. Though the budget was relatively low considering how many special effects sequences are in the movie, Goosebumps just hasn't been drawing enough people to the theatres. To be fair, because Goosebumps is still in theatres and has not yet opened in three dozen other markets including the UK, Russia, and Japan, it's still possible that it will eventually turn a profit at the box office. However, unless it becomes a gigantic hit in a few of those markets it will not perform to the level that Sony hoped it would.
