10 Highest-Grossing Movies Of 2017 (So Far) - Ranked From Worst To Best
4. Fast And Furious 8
Just when you thought that the Fast and Furious franchise couldn't get any bigger, louder or dumber, along comes the eighth instalment to blow that theory out of the water with another episode of preposterous yet glorious blockbuster spectacle.
While there are several jarring tonal shifts, the plot is nonsense as always, much of the huge cast has virtually nothing important to do and Charlize Theron (one of the best action heroines around) is largely wasted as the exposition-spouting villain, Fast and Furious 8 sticks to the formula in typically crowd-pleasing fashion.
Dom and his 'family' are literally saving the world now. The Rock tackles an active missile with his bare hands. Jason Statham decimates a plane full of terrorists while carrying a baby. Vin Diesel wins a street race by driving his car backwards across the finishing line. While its on fire. Fast and Furious 8 delivers enough of the series' signature OTT action and likeable characters to provide the very definition of the term 'popcorn movie'.
