10 Highest Paid Actors & Their Lowest Grossing Movies
3. Matt Damon - Glory Daze
Salary: $20 million per movie
Undoubtedly one of Hollywood's favourite leading men, Matt Damon has been making some interesting, eclectic career choices over the last few years, starring in big blockbusters like Interstellar and Elysium as well as smaller fare like The Zero Theorem and Promised Land.
Although he didn't get anywhere near the $20 million salary mark for box office and critical disappointment The Monuments Men (where he was part of a large ensemble alongside the likes of George Clooney and Bill Murray), he is expected to nab that massive fee for the next Bourne film, set for release in 2016.
Lowest Grossing Film: Glory Daze (1995) - $15k
Despite sporting an impressive cast that also includes Ben Affleck, Sam Rockwell, Alyssa Milano, Brendan Fraser, John Rhys Davies and even Matthew McConaughey (as "Rental Truck Guy"), this college comedy had absolutely abysmal results at the box office during its limited release (there's only U.S. domestic box office info available).
Damon's role as "Edgar Pudwhacker" amounts to an extended cameo of sorts so the actor probably isn't losing any sleep over his involvement or the film's lack of success.
