6. The Wolverine
Hugh Jackman returns to the comic book character that made him one of hollywood's most in-demand talents. His popularity has grown since the bold actor has now appeared in Broadway musicals and 2012's Les Miserables. Hugh Jackman returns as Logan, one of the most popular members of the mutant group, The X-Men. This time Logan finds himself in modern day Japan, the location of an important time in the character's mythos. The Wolverine is being marketed as a stand-alone X-Men film, distancing itself from the atrocious X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The official plot is rumoured to be based upon Frank Miller's celebrated graphic novel arc. At one point the project had Black Swan's Darren Aronofsky slated to helm, but he was unable to commit due to the lengthy production time taking place mostly over seas. Now the film will rely on the relatively unknown James Mangold and the strength of a script that brought a talent like Aronofsky. A trailer for the film has yet to be released.
